Whether your single by choice or circumstances, you have now entered into a new season. It is now a season of singleness. Which ever situation brought you here, you can either let the past direct your future or let God guide you. This morning the Lord showed me Deuteronomy in a different light. He showed me Chapter 7 from a singleness perspective. It has 26 verses so I am going to break it down verse by verse daily by what was shown. I pray that each person sees their worth and learns their identity in Christ.
Deuteronomy 7:1 (NKJV)
7 “When the Lord your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,
"When the Lord brings you into the Land" is a powerful verse. God clearly shows that He is in control of the situation(s). He tells us that He already knew you were going to be single and has already prepared a way for you to walk through this season. He is bringing you into the land which means he has prepared it for you. He will not bring you into a season and leave you. Even when it becomes unbearable, and you think you're alone, and you think you can't do it, and when you want to go back to the familiar, He will gently whisper, "I AM here."
He goes on to tell us that we will possess the land! The land of singleness is a good thing. To possess means to own. Being single doesn't mean your unloved, weak or passive. It is actually quite the opposite. During this season, God shows you how to fight and take back everything that was stolen from you (your dignity, heart, life, self-worth, identity.) You start to become the person God created you to be. You were called for a purpose and soon you will walk into that calling. Whatever was lost, destroyed or stolen will be restored.
"Cast out many nations before you, seven nations greater and mightier"
This can be a challenging time of the singleness process. Here is where your identity begins to be developed. He goes before you and fights the battles. Those things that were greater than you, that always defeated you, He begins to pluck the roots and destroy them one by one. Then He begins the pruning process and starts peeling away layer after layer. He gets to the core of things and expose those which hold you bondage. You're vulnerable at this time but God is still in control and begins to mold you into a child of God, which He has called you for. YOU BEEN LIBERATED FROM THE BONDAGE....JustFood4Thought
